Vista giving a “Server execution failed” error

I ran into this problem myself for no apparent reason…

Well now there’s a fix! Thanks to a regular Vista user on Microsoft’s TechNet forums, a fix has been found!
For Business and Ultimate version users:

>>Right click “Computer”
>>Click “Manage”
>>Under the “System Tools” section, Double click “Local Users and Groups”
>>Click “Groups”
>>Right click “Administrators”
>>Click “Add to group…”
>>Click “Add”
>>Click “Advanced”
>>Click “Find Now”
>>Double click “Local Service”
>>Click “Ok”
>>”NT Authority\Local Service” should show up in the list now
>>Click “Ok”
>>Close Computer Management and reboot.

For Home version users:

>>Run a command prompt as administrator (start -> run -> cmd.exe)
>>Enter the following in the command prompt window: net localgroup “Administrators” “NT Authority\Local Service” /add
>>Reboot

    When I tried this on my mom’s computer,
    I get
    “System Error 5 has occurred.
    Access is denied”

    I’m doing this from the Command Prompt.
    This is Vista Home edition.

    I’ve done this on my computer,
    which was Ultimate, and had no problems.

    Help?

    You do need to be sure you are logged in with an account that has Administrator privileges. Also, you have to make sure to run “elevated” as an administrator. in the quick search, type cmd, then right click the cmd.exe icon that appear at the top. Right click, and choose “Run as Administrator”.

    That should get rid of your problem.
