$100 Cash if You Crack This
Another Edit: To encourage discussion, a second prize has been added. The person who I feel contributes the most to the solving of this (via comments) will also receive a prize of $25 USD, even if he/she doesn’t come up with the correct answer. This is determined solely by me, and will only be given out if I feel someone has contributed. The winner may very well receive this prize too if the discussion I see warrants it.
No joke. Very simple. Send an email to dcostalis@gmail.com with the message that this contains, and I’ll send you $100 USD if yours is the first e-mail i get, via the method you choose. If you don’t think you can do it on your own… send it off to a friend. They’ll probably split it with you if you help…
Good luck to all, and don’t be greedy… spread this around. Someone elses crackpot logic may just be the jump your brain needs.
Edit: No, you do not win if you tell me it says “HI”. When you get the correct message, you will know, trust me.

hello
September 7th, 2008 07:30
No hint?
September 7th, 2008 07:35
I think I have an idea how this is solved, but am having problems due to spacing and whether it runs in rows or columns. Basically, where does each word end?
September 7th, 2008 11:33
Sorry, no… no hints on this one

It says: HI

Not a clue. Kind of tough!
September 8th, 2008 09:06
I just sent my answer. I hope it’s correct..

this problem looks quite familiar, is this one that was sent over to fermilab?
September 8th, 2008 22:50
No, however a good understanding of the fermilab code may help you out a little bit here… the code is very different, but some of the thought processes may steer you in the right thinking direction.

Are those I’s (i’s) or 1’s (ones)? Binary? Statistics/logistics? Does the “message” translate to a spoken language? English?

That’s a lot of questions! I look forward to hearing the answers to them!

I made a little spreadsheet to represent each 3 character grouping as numbers… unfortunately, I didn’t deduce much from it yet :p Maybe it will help someone else …

Hmm… take a look at your arbitrary number assignments, and see if you can’t fine some sort of a better system for them. Maybe make a copy of that spreadsheet and make it editable?

Still no answers?
October 3rd, 2008 10:16
Still nothing…. nothing at all… It may be time to make this my Entrecard post/link again.
October 6th, 2008 14:38
Молодец. Раскрыл тему полностью.

I keep coming back to look at this. It’s intriguing. I feel clueless. I am tinkering but not coming up with much. I am excited about finding out the answer - assuming that’ll ever happen!
